WELCOME to Brentwood United Reformed Church

Where are we?

Brentwood is in Essex and is just off Junction 28 of the M25.  It has good, if slow, rail links with London Liverpool Street.  Journey times are from thirty-five to forty-five minutes. (On a good day).  Brentwood has a population of about 68,000, largely white middle class people.  It is, for the most part affluent and conservative . According to the official guide to Brentwood over half the population are affluent suburbanites. However, there are some areas of relative poverty.  Brentwood also has its fair share of youth issues - although Essex police, that hard working and overstretched body of men and women, are working tirelessly to keep the Queens' peace.

Brentwood does have some very nice Country Parks, although being Essex, they get very crowded at the weekends.  The biggest employers in Brentwood include BT  Ford has a very large presence in the town and surrounds and  Equity Insurance Holdings plc , a large insurance company, has its headquarters in Brentwood   There is a big Sainsbury in the town which is useful.  There is a  retail development just off the town centre called the Bay Tree Centre.
